An Augustinian vision of the academy is founded on the primacy of love. It understands the academia as a scholarly fellowship of friends seeking truth in mutual respect. Caritas or charity as the aim of education for St Augustine means profound respect for and acceptance of one’s fellow searchers for truth. In order to foster this Augustinian pedagogical ideal, we have set up schools where we train young minds in Augustinian values of dedication to studies in search of truth, friendship and communal living and the search for God as the guiding principle of all life’s undertakings.
